About WhatPeopleUse
Honest answers to the question everyone asks before buying something.
Hi - WhatPeopleUse is run by a software engineer who got tired of reading reviews written by people who clearly never used the product. Most "best of" lists are SEO games. Most reviews are thinly veiled ads. WhatPeopleUse exists because I wanted something different.
I work in tech and use a lot of the tools I write about - AI assistants, developer tools, productivity software - as part of my actual daily work. When I recommend something, it's because I've used it or researched it thoroughly enough to have a real opinion. When something isn't worth it, I say so.
What this site covers
- AI Tools - Writing assistants, productivity AI, and tools actually worth paying for
- Developer Tools - Hosting, SEO tools, and services engineers use every day
- Amazon Picks - Hardware, peripherals, and desk setup gear worth buying
- SaaS & Productivity - Software subscriptions that earn their monthly fee
How this site makes money
Some links on this site are affiliate links. When you buy through them, I earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. This is how the site stays free - no paywalls, no sponsored posts, no paid placements.
Affiliate relationships do not influence recommendations. If something isn't worth buying, I'll say so - even if it pays a higher commission than alternatives.
